The University Paris Nanterre is pleased to host the UPN Summer School: Sport and Society, from the 8 to the 12 of June 2026. Open to PhD and master students within the EDUC alliance, this event aims at understanding better the issues and impact of the organisation of sports practices and events.

Who can participate?
This summer school is open to PhD and master students from the EDUC alliance universities interested in understanding better the implications of sport in society.
Event goals:
Enhance academic and professional skills between young researchers in Europe.
Gain knowledge on collaborative research led by different EDUC alliance countries.
Examine methodological issues from an intercultural perspective.
Focus on four specific themes: the social condition of top-level athletes; ethical issues; discrimination; and the organization of major sporting events.
Registration
Maximum capacity: 30 participants.
No participation fee.
Mobilities are eligible for Erasmus grants.

Preliminary programme:
5-minutes presentation of thesis or dissertation by participants.
Escape game and sports practices at UPN's sports facilities.
Visit to a sports complex.
Co-development workshops and plenary presentations.
